The Convertable – Handmade Space-Saving Furniture from the UK

from £995.00

A handcrafted, space-saving table designed for modern homes — transforming seamlessly between coffee table to dining table. Built in Nottinghamshire from solid ash or oak, each piece is made to order for lasting quality.

It moves easily into 4 positions:
1. small coffee table (74cm x 74cm x 48cm high)
2. large coffee table (74cm x 148cm x 46cm high)
3. two seater dining table (74cm x 74cm x 75cm high)
4. six seater dining table (74cm x 148cm x 73cm high)

The Convertable is constructed using traditional furniture making techniques, showing the pride we take in our craftsmanship. The finger joints on the connecting frame and the carefully matched grain patterns of the table tops are evidence of our care and attention to detail.

This is truly a classic design that will never date and the simple mechanism is extremely durable. Every part has been carefully thought about, even down to the triangular feet that help to make the table firm and secure on a variety of surfaces.

Originally designed by Lee Sinclair in 1989 and made by Pintail Studio. The Convertable is still as popular today as when it was first released and is enjoyed by hundreds of customers around the world.

The Convertable has featured in many press articles and was even a game on BBC's Generation Game in 1991.

“Ingenious”
Jane Peyton - The Independent

“I am delighted with my pair of Convertables, they give me exceptional flexibility - I can seat ten people comfortably for dinner, or pack everything down to a coffee table. In addition, they look absolutely gorgeous - the butterfly split top is a particularly nice touch. With most furniture, you are faced with a trade-off between form and function, but this excellent design gives you both! Daniel and Rosalind's customer service has also been second to none”
Clive Galway 2018

“Thanks so much for your beautiful work on the Convertable, it is really smashing, I am very pleased with it.”

Mr Ward, Southwold

“The best thing I have ever bought”
Mrs Kilgour, Edinburgh

“I bought a convertable at the Country Living fair in 1992, and it is still a much loved, if slightly distressed piece of furniture, and the centrepiece of my sitting room.”
Fay Presto, London

“Ordered a convertible coffee to dining table for my small flat. The item has just arrived and I couldn’t be happier with it. There is no product out there like it, and it’s extremely easy to convert. Thank you so much!”
S. Ashfield,

“I was looking for a convertible table and ... WOW ... I was impressed.”
Cal B, Toronto

“The table is perfect. We live in a one bedroom flat and don't have space for a 'table' - so this is exactly what we needed!”
